EPDM
EPDM rubber foam contains synthetic raw rubber and is mostly closed-cell. EPDM rubber, which SSA PANA FOAMTEC Ltd. uses in its production process, is most often of types EPDM I, EPDM II, EPDM SW, NR, NBR, CR, EVM (they differ in hardness per m³ and density).
In addition, our company processes flame-resistant EPDM rubber and EPDM rubber resistant to high temperatures.
One of the best alternatives for EPDM rubber is a polyethylene (PE) foam sponge. From EPDM rubber in rolls and blocks, which we process in several ways, we produce articles using the following production processes: cutting, skiving, laminating, milling, laminating. Before each production of EPDM rubber articles, the same raw material is subjected to tempering (acceleration of the natural process of shrinkage of said raw material).
Advantages
Due to its closed-cell structure, EPDM rubber is impermeable to air and water.
Misconceptions
It is often wrongly called spongy rubber.
EPDM with closed cells
- weight: 75 - 175 kg/m³
- hardness according to Shore 00: from 10 to 40
- thickness: from 1 mm to 50 mm
- excellent resilience to UV rays and thinners
- conforms to the US FMVSS 302 auto industry guidelines and the EU RoHS 2002/95/EC guidelines
- ideal for use in areas where water resistance, thermal insulation and soundproofing, energy absorption and fire resistance are required
- standard colors: black, other colors (beige and gray)
EPDM rubber with mixed cell structure
- standard color: black
- weight: 95 kg/m³
- thickness: from 3 mm to 30 mm
- temperature stability: from -40°C to +135°C
- when compressed to 60–70% of the original thickness, this material is waterproof
- excellent soundproofing and vibration damping
- excellent resistance to UV rays and solvents
- conforms to the US FMVSS 302 auto industry guidelines and the EU RoHS 2002/95/EC guidelines
- ideal for use in the automotive industry (sealing HVAC devices, air systems, vehicle windshields, dashboards), electronics (LCD, TV, DVD screens and mobile device screens), in major appliances (sealing the interior of air conditioners and refrigerators)
CR (Neoprene) sponge foam
- we offer Chloroprene (CR) type of sponge foam with closed-cell structure, black color
- weight: 150 - 175 kg/m³
